FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
St. George, UT — January 16, 2024 Utah Public Lands Alliance (UPLA) is pleased to announce a donation of $102,317 to BlueRibbon Coalition. The presentation of this generous contribution will take place during the Winter 4x4 Jamboree's closing ceremony this Saturday.
UPLA pledged to match $50,000 in donations just a couple days after BLM’s decision to close 317 miles of roads and 120 dispersed campsites. The campaign launched October 1, and through the generosity of hundreds of donors, including clubs, businesses, and many individuals, the challenge to make the $100,000 donation was reached this week.
The Winter 4x4 Jamboree's closing ceremony provides the perfect platform to acknowledge and celebrate the collaboration between UPLA, BlueRibbon Coalition and the off road community to access to our public lands.
"This donation represents a united front of passionate individuals, clubs, and businesses who understand the significance of preserving both our public lands and access to them by all user types, not just a privileged few. UPLA has the greatest confidence in BlueRibbon Coalition to pursue the matter in Federal Court, and we believe this collaboration will make a lasting impact," said Loren Campbell, President, Utah Public Lands Alliance.
BlueRibbon Coalition has a proven track record of advocating for responsible recreation and trail access. Their Legal Defense Fund plays a crucial role in supporting their legal initiatives, ensuring that the voice of the off-road community is heard and respected.
The Winter 4x4 Jamboree, a renowned event attracting almost 1500 individuals, provides an ideal setting for this significant announcement. The ceremony will take place at the Washington County Fairgrounds Grafton Building on Saturday, January 20 at 6:00 PM.
UPLA invites the media, attendees of the Winter 4x4 Jamboree, and the public to join in this momentous occasion. The donation underscores the strength of the off-road community when united for a common cause.
